We met up with one of my cousins and a childhood friend for lunch on Stearn’s wharf. After looking at the prices on one of the menus and the wait at another restaurant, we settled on Char Oak Fish and Chips. The menu behind the counter said “fish and chips – you must try these” so we did. Four of us got the fish and chips, and Michael got the clam strips and chips. We ordered and paid and then sat outside to wait for our order. It was a beautiful day to dine at a picnic table on the pier, and the fish was tender and fresh.
After lunch, we took a stroll along the pier, taking the opportunity for a photo in front of the Channel Islands. On our way back to the car, we saw a starfish hanging onto one of the piles, watched a fisherman catching half a dozen fish at once with a pole holding multiple hooks, and saw a slew of fish flopping around on the pier. Someone was having an incredibly fresh seafood dinner!
