We again opted for the scenic route when choosing our drive from Santa Barbara to Bakersfield, where my parents live. Instead of heading to the interstate, we began our trek across a windy mountain road (150) toward Ojai and then 33 into Maricopa. It was a fun road with a much more interesting view than I-5 past Magic Mountain, but we were definitely road worn when we arrived in Bakersfield and managed to get down a bit of El Pollo Loco (another fast food place we don’t have in Texas) before heading for bed.
