Again, we did our best to avoid California traffic by leaving mid morning, and we thought we were clear until we passed LAX on the 405. We crawled forward until we merged onto I-10 at Santa Monica, but then we got to start the scenic portion of our drive up PCH. There was probably a quicker way to get to Santa Barbara from Orange County, but the drive through Hollywood would not have been near as serene.
